Exterity and ATX networks launch combined professional cable and IP video solution at NAB Show 2016
Atlanta, April 6th – Exterity, the leading provider of enterprise IP video technologies for the secure distribution of live, on-demand and recorded video over IP, today announced the addition of ATX Networks’ UCrypt® QAM to IP gateways to the Exterity enterprise IP video solutions portfolio. The partnership enables Exterity US customers to utilize a single combined video network system to distribute up to 200 channels at once, including 60 encrypted cable channels.
Exterity already provides end-to-end enterprise IP video solutions to customers in a wide range of market segments, including broadcast & media, corporate & finance, education, oil & gas and stadiums & venues. The addition of ATX’s UCrypt QAM to IP gateways gives Exterity customers access to encrypted video content, providing increased headend flexibility and capability. The combined system also facilitates the distribution of Session Application Protocol (SAP) announcements, provides EPG information from a third party source automatically, and enables end users to playback and record content.
Colin Farquhar, CEO at Exterity, explained: “Cable TV has traditionally used a completely different distribution system to IP, alongside encryption to protect high value assets, and these technical issues have long prevented organizations from easily combining both. However, our customers are increasingly looking to distribute multiple channels within their existing infrastructure, a challenge that our collaboration with ATX Networks solves.”
Jay Lee, CTO and VP Business Development, ATX Networks, added: “Demand for content access has evolved tremendously recently, with more organizations than ever considering cable as a content source alongside other sytems such as IP video. By partnering with Exterity, we are combining our expertise in cable TV distribution with Exterity’s robust and flexible IP video system and support, enabling our customers to get the best of both worlds from a single vendor.”
JD Jones, VP Americas at Exterity, concluded: “Our collaboration with ATX Networks enables integrators and end users across a wide range of industries to know that they can rely on their combined video network system to access the right content easily, while remaining in control of the authorizations via our AvediaServer, all delivered and supported by a single vendor.
