ContentWise Makes Middle East Debut at IBC MENA 2015

  • ContentWise brings its award-winning personalization solution to IBC MENA, showcasing its ability to support personalization and content search and discovery for local content

January XX, 2015, Milan – ContentWise™, the personalization, discovery and recommendations solution for digital TV content, will make its Middle Eastern debut at IBC MENA 2015. Visitors to the stand (#B12) will be able to see how ContentWise is able to incorporate and manage local content and metadata to support broadcasters and pay-TV providers across MENA with content search, discovery and predictions.

Today, personalization is a key element in retaining users and increasing their loyalty, and broadcasters and pay-TV providers throughout the Middle East are starting to recognize its importance- especially as they begin to combat the threat of OTT services. But as these companies give viewers access to both their favorite international content as well as the best regional video, search, discovery and personalization across MENA must support local languages as well as local content.

“In the Middle East, personalization is not just about supporting local languages like Arabic – it is also about supporting content search and discovery for both the local and international content that broadcasters and pay-TV operators throughout the region provide,” said Paolo Bozzola, CEO, ContentWise.  “If these companies want to be successful against the growing number of international OTT players hitting the market, then they need to be equipped with the right personalization tools. ContentWise uses localized metadata to seamlessly integrated search, discovery and personalization into offerings, keeping viewers engaged and coming back for more.”

The ContentWise solution personalizes the user experience for TV and video services, including linear TV channels, catch-up television, SVOD, advertising supported TV or electronic sell-through. Going beyond “most popular” lists and drill-down interfaces, ContentWise learns the tastes and habits of each user, anticipating their actions and pushes content to the viewer that is both relevant and engaging.

ContentWise will be giving a live demonstration of its solution on Tuesday 20th January at 14:00 in the Content Everywhere Hub. Visitors will be able to see all components of the solution, including the Knowledge Factory, an automated workflow system that handles metadata. The Knowledge Factory can mash-up multiple data sources and provide innovative and creative ways to think about content through the use of semantic web technologies, natural language processing and machine learning.

ContentWise’s CEO Paolo Bozzola will also be joining the panel “Adding Value to Content Everywhere through Personalization’, taking place on Tuesday 20th January at 15:00. During the session Bozzola will discuss exactly how operators can localize metadata and improve the quality of content discovery for local content.

ContentWise will be exhibiting at IBC MENA 2015 on stand #B12 from 20-22 January at the Madinat Jumeriah Arena in Dubai.
