Grass Valley Partners with deltatre to Demonstrate Multiplatform Live Sports Production Distribution

Partnership offers easy and simplified delivery of content to digital media platforms

MONTREAL, April 8, 2014 — At NAB 2014, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand, with sports media and technology firm deltatre, will showcase a combined live sports production solution with Grass Valley’s GV STRATUS Digital Media Platform (DMP) and deltatre’s Diva integrated video application. This partnership will provide broadcasters with a comprehensive, tightly integrated workflow that simplifies digital publishing to make content delivery to multiple digital media platforms more accessible and easier to deploy—lowering operational costs and maximizing new business opportunities.

“Grass Valley’s robust and forward-thinking product lines have transformed the way news, sports, and entertainment programming is delivered,” commented Carlo De Marchis, Chief Product Officer at deltatre. “At NAB, we are further demonstrating that notion by combining our technologies and technical skills with some of Grass Valley’s core products to enable second-screen applications for live production, especially sports, at a low cost of ownership.”

deltatre’s Diva live and on-demand sports video player technology enables viewers to watch sporting events on multiple platforms simultaneously through a sophisticated interface specifically designed for each sport. It enhances the viewing experience of all sports with a combination of data, video, and social integration, and can be tailored to a rights holder’s specifications.

GV STRATUS DMP facilitates a create once, publish everywhere consolidated distribution workflow, especially when combined with Grass Valley’s K2 media server architecture and the K2 Dyno Replay System—the fastest way to create engaging replay and highlight packages with its highly intuitive touchscreen interface, and increased content/metadata integration. K2 Dyno is widely used in arena and televised sports, and now includes AnySpeed dynamic playback technology guaranteeing smooth playback at any speed from zero to 200 percent of super and ultra slow-motion content.

“We’re excited to be partnering with deltatre on a new live and sports production solution that uniquely combines our technologies,” explained Mike Cronk, Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Grass Valley. “Visitors to our booth will see how our GV STRATUS DMP, K2 Summit, and K2 Dyno—when combined with deltatre’s Diva video application—provide a unique and cost-effective workflow enabling broadcasters and operators to deliver content across multiple digital media platforms in a simple, affordable, and effective way.”

Grass Valley is exhibiting at NAB in Las Vegas from April 7-10, 2014 on booth SL206 and N2513.
