NAB Launch of NexGuard Integration with Rohde & Schwarz CLIPSTER makes Forensic Watermarking Just a Click Away

Integration enables content distributors to easily meet content makers’ increasing mandating
of forensic watermarking for up to 4K content

Eindhoven, The Netherlands, April 7, 2015 – NexGuard, a Civolution company and the leading provider of forensic watermarking technology and solutions for protecting media content against illicit redistribution, today announced that its watermarking technology has been integrated with Rohde & Schwarz DVS CLIPSTER mastering solution. The integration of NexGuard with the CLIPSTER mastering station is launched and demonstrated at NAB on the Rohde & Schwarz booth (SL1105).

The integration of NexGuard watermarking with the Rohde & Schwarz DVS CLIPSTER mastering station provides the following advantages for users of this new joint solution:

  • NexGuard forensic watermarking can be added to content during file-to-file video transcoding with just one click in R&S CLIPSTER,
  • Mix and match formats and resolutions in the R&S CLIPSTER timeline for extreme format flexibility,
  • Up to 4K UHD output to production, preview, mastering, and distribution file formats including Quicktime, IMF, and AS-11.

“The integration of NexGuard with Rohde & Schwarz DVS CLIPSTER enables us to meet an increasingly frequent customer request,” said Pascal Marie, Senior Director, Product Management and Partners, NexGuard. “The joint solution means that watermarking protection is now just one click away to protect digital content in production, preview and distribution, removing the difficulty of supporting the content industry’s mandated forensic watermarking requirements.”

The integration means that Civolution’s NexGuard watermarking technology is now available as an embedded option inside the Rohde & Schwarz DVS CLIPSTER Workstation. Watermarking can be performed with every file-to-file transcoding task in CLIPSTER with all mastering format engines including the ProRes, DNxHD, IMF, AS-02 and AS-11 delivery tools. Civolution‘s NexGuard provides forensic protection with a centralized database of watermark data including recipient details to unify watermarking data across multiple content providers. The watermarking process can be applied to a variety of video formats at any stage of the video distribution chain.

“Integrating with NexGuard, the leading forensic watermarking solution, enables us to easily meet our original content creator and post-production vendor customers’ security requirements,” says Stephen Birdsong, Product Manager, Post Production Solutions, Rohde & Schwarz DVS. “Export of content from CLIPSTER can now include an imperceptible watermark as a deterrent against piracy of pre-release content, which is critical as the early distribution of high quality pirate copies would impact revenues from all release windows.”
