- The QYOU secures partnership with retail services provider HeroFi to bring programming to over 1,000 Buffalo Wild Wings restaurants in the US
- This is The QYOU’s first “out-of-home” deal in the US, signifying a further expansion into the hospitality and retail sectors
The QYOU, the world’s leading curator of internet video for the “TV Everywhere” market has announced a partnership with retail services provider HeroFi that will bring The QYOU’s programming to over 1,100 Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) restaurants across America. The retail partnership marks the first “out-of-home” deal for The QYOU in the US, as the business expands its footprint into the hospitality and retail sectors.
BWW restaurants offer a casual sports-bar atmosphere, with each venue showing a range of sports across multiple TV screens. While big sporting events and franchises such as NFL and NBA remain the dominant attractions, BWW is pursuing a strategy of scheduling short programmes in between game times that showcase the wider world of sports and adrenaline content from online video creators.
Working closely with BWW, The QYOU is creating a range of 15-minute shows that will feature curated sports themed videos that have previously only been available online. These shows will feature everything from BMX, surfing, motocross, and snowboarding through to freestyle soccer tricks and feats of athletic achievement, all shot in HD or 4K.
BWW restaurants are located in retail, lifestyle and entertainment hubs such as airports, leisure centers and universities. The demand for online video in transit and out-of-the-home is growing with greater access to smart phones and faster internet speeds. The new partnership with The QYOU and HeroFi will tap into this growing demand, making the best online sports videos available in a retail setting at BWW’s restaurants.
Scott Ehrlich, CEO of The QYOU says, “When we started out a little over two years ago, we knew that curating shows for traditional broadcast, cable, and IPTV was the logical way to bring the growing popularity of online video culture to television audiences. However, TV’s reach now extends beyond the living room, resulting in the rise of out-of-home viewing in restaurants, bars, gyms, or hotels and workplaces. It is a rapidly evolving sector that’s demanding more thoughtful programming relevant to its physical environment. We’re thrilled to be partnering with HeroFi and Buffalo Wild Wings to bring the endlessly entertaining and creative world of web video – to B-Dubs patrons across the US.”
The new shows are available now in BWW restaurants across the US.
