TV Connect becomes European Springboard for Connected Entertainment
With a 4% attendee increase and 83 countries represented, the 11th edition of the show demonstrates that the European market is consolidating around TV Connect as a single hub for innovation
London, May 27, 2015 – TV Connect, the world’s leading connected entertainment event, today announced that the eleventh edition of the show has seen a 4% attendee increase from 83 countries, transforming it into a centralised platform for discussion and innovation in the digital TV and connected entertainment market.
Joanna Jones, Events Director at Informa Telecoms and Media, commented: “The move to the ExCeL and the change in date for TV Connect 2015 allowed us to accommodate a larger audience and deliver a broader event that discussed a wide range of topics related to connected entertainment. Seeing such a positive response from speakers, exhibitors and sponsors confirmed that we made the right choices, and we are proud to enable companies to demonstrate that creativity is thriving in this industry.”
TV Connect 2015 was divided between a series of conferences focusing on experiencing, delivering and monetising entertainment on new devices, and a tradeshow providing exhibitors with space to showcase the future of video. The keynotes, panels and demonstrations enabled visitors to discover how they can leverage video to offer personalised experiences to consumers up to 4K on a variety of devices, glimpse into the future of TV advertising, monetise the second screen and Over-The-Top (OTT) TV and the advent of LTE Broadcast.
Mark Horchler, International Marketing Manager EMEA at Elemental, said: “A wide range of people from the broadcast and broadband sectors came to meet us on our stand at TV Connect, including cable, OTT and satellite operators, as well as enterprise customers. TV Connect is a perfect event for us to showcase our solutions to our European customers in one place.”
According to Viktor Artyushchenko, Commercial Director of Infomir LLC: “We have been attending TV Connect for a few subsequent years and the event has continually been a perfect occasion to reinforce existing partnerships and establish new ones. TV Connect proved for one more time that this is one of the most important events for telecom businesses.”
Iddo Shai, VP Product Marketing at Kaltura, commented: “Kaltura had a very successful show this year. Over the 3 days we had many good discussions with prospects about deploying additional end-to-end OTT services. The number of meetings at TV Connect aligns with the strong demand we are seeing for personalized OTT solutions all around the globe. I can’t wait to be back in London next year.”
Darren Palmer, Managing Director, Northern Europe at Thomson Video Networks, explained: “We had a very busy show with an interesting cross-section of people come to our stand. We are especially pleased with the geographical spread of the visitors, which has enabled us to meet our European target audience and discuss their projects and expectations in one of the major European capitals.”
Bryta Schulz, Senior VP Marketing at Vindicia, added: “At TV Connect, we saw tremendous interest in OTT, with a number of visitors to our stand looking to monetise their content. As a US company, we have been having similar discussions across the pond for two years, and it is exciting to see Europe rapidly adopting OTT. We believe that the next wave of OTT services will be more transparent and more user-friendly, two hot topics at TV Connect 2015.”
TV Connect, the world’s leading event on connected entertainment, is organised by Informa Telecoms & Media. The 2016 edition of the event will take place on April 26-28 at the ExCeL in London.
